Road tripping

Dernière mise à jour : 28 août 2022

This year I decided to travel by car from Brussels to my tiny flat near Perpignan with my two kids... taking my time...

... and also my work.

We stopped 3 times on the way down. 5 days and 4 nights of driving, visiting, resting, swimming, eating... and working 3 to 4 hours a day.

In the evening, mostly. While my older daughter was watching YouTube videos and my youngest son was sleeping.

It's been a week full of challenges and surprises... like the unbearable heat, the ability of a 3-year-old to puke 10 times his body weight in a car or the fact that f***ing Studio's been malfunctioning the whole week...

But also great moments with my kids, the magnificent French countryside, the beauty of France's cultural heritage, the delicious food...

And most of all the fact that I can really do it all on my own and have the beurre, the argent du beurre, and maybe someday the smile of a kind, clever and sexy crémier (who knows what the future has in store for me on that subject).

So what did I manage to do work-wise?

Nothing heavy, but I actually enjoyed it...

Here I am now in my tiny southern flat next to the beach with my two kids, a full fridge, two new ventilators and a decent Internet connection which almost cost me my sanity but is allowing my daughter to take her Zoom physics class and will allow me to work from here between beach mornings, afternoon naps and evening ice-creams.

This is the life I've chosen and it seems pretty sweet to me, all in all... 😉
